  • What should I expect for my first session?
Your first session will consist of meeting your therapist, reviewing intake paperwork, and beginning assessments/evaluations. This session is a chance for you to decide if we're a good fit for you and to ask questions. Your therapist will review your paperwork with you and ask questions pertinent to your concerns and/or goals. Our focus is to get a clear picture of what you want to accomplish in therapy so we can monitor progress and help you along your journey.
  • How much do therapy sessions cost?
Intake & Evaluation $175.00 Session $150.00 Most of our clients use insurance to pay for therapy sessions, but we also accept private pay. We accept most insurance and you can find a list of the insurances we accept on our home page by clicking the logo at the top of the page. You can also check out our pricing page. We accept credit cards: Visa, Master Card, Discover, and American Express.
  • How can I find out if you're an in-network provider with my insurance?
Your coverage details should be included in the plan information you received when you first enrolled with your insurance, but those documents can be nearly impossible to understand. To make things easier, call your insurance's member services number (usually on the back of your insurance card or on their website) and ask a few questions. Some good examples are: 1. What is my co-pay for therapy visits? 2. Do I need a referral from my doctor or preapproval from the insurer? 3. Is there any coverage for out-of-network therapists? If so, how much? And what's the process for getting reimbursed? 4. Do you cover some kinds of mental health professionals and not others? 5. Do you cover teletherapy options? Is there a reduced rate for these? 6. Is there a limited number of sessions I can attend each year? We have paneled with many insurance providers and suggest you try looking at your plan's provider network to check if we're in-network with your insurance plan. We also accept payment from spiritual directors (i.e. LDS Bishops, clergy, etc.)

  • How do I find the right therapist for me?
Try searching for a therapist who can address your area of concern. Do you already have goals in mind for what you want to accomplish in therapy? Share these goals with your prospective therapist and discuss how you'll reach your goals together. You can even try jotting down some questions to ask your therapist for your first session so you can determine if they are a good fit for you. All of our therapists are committed to helping you find the right fit for you so that you can heal and grow. You can also check out our Get Started with Therapy Guide for more tips.
  • Should I work with a male or female therapist?
Often, a person's fears about therapy revolve around finding a therapist they can trust. It's common to have some worry or confusion about choosing a therapist, especially if the nature of the topics to be discussed in therapy involve gender identity, sexuality, or sexual orientation. Clients can absolutely request to work with therapists of a specific sex or gender. Finding the right therapist is about finding someone you can feel comfortable with pursuing your treatment and developing a healthy, lasting relationship. For some clients, this will mean working with a clincian of a particular sex or gender.
  • What ages do you work with?
    Adults Elders Teens
  • Do you treat children?
Yes, though this is not our clinic's main focus. We are able to treat families and have some younger children as clients, however, our therapists primary specialize in treating preteen and teenage age children.
  • What if my therapist is on vacation or out of town?
Typically, it is possible to wait until your therapist returns to resume your regularly scheduled sessions. If, however, you need to see someone while your therapist is gone, you and your therapist will make arrangements so that you can see another therapist while they are out of town. Always, if there is a medical emergency or your feel you cannot wait to be seen, you can call your local ER for clinical emergencies.
  • What if I have a problem with my therapy or therapist?
We always encourage you to address any issues you may have directly with your therapist, our leadership staff, or directly with Dr. Kane. We also have a grievance form available for clients and/or staff to submit.
  • What is your cancellation policy?
We recognize that unforeseen events occur in daily life. If for any reason you are unable to make a scheduled appointment, please notify us as soon as possible. The full fee will be charged when there is a missed appointment or a late cancellation without 48 hour prior notice. For full details of our payment policies and cancellation policies, refer to the intake forms on your client portal.
  • How can I reach my therapist?
You can call our office at 385-223-0777 or email us at hello@drchristykane.com. If we are not available to take your phone call, it is because we are helping someone else at that time or your therapist may be in session. Please make sure you leave a clear message with your name and phone number even if you think we already have it. We will do our best to have your therapist connect with you in a timely manner and address your questions and/or concerns.
